My musical life started when I was 7 years old as a junior player in a local wind band.
After moving to Venlo, a small town in the south of the Netherlands, I started playing the
French Horn.
I instantly fell in love with the instrument. A love that still hasn't diminished.
During my teenage years, I started conducting choirs and little groups.
After finishing the conservatorium in Maastricht, where I studied Horn, conducting and music theory. I conducted several choirs and a small group of players that played educational projects in schools.
This group, containing members of the former Limburgs Symfonie Orkest, played large symphonic works. I arranged those for a small ensemble containing 1 of al woodwinds, 1 or 2 french horns, string quintet and piano.
The purpose of this was to have a kind of miniature orchestra to introduce children to the Symphony orchestra and symphonic music.
For the choirs, I arranged, (re)orchestrated and composed, pieces in several different styles.
A small selection of my arrangements and compositions is in the portfolio section below .
